Windsurfing: Manor End Felixstowe Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: F3-6 Surf / Sea State: moderate Air Temperature: cool Sea Temperature: cool Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 20.1 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 3nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Went manor end with Chris – who had some runs whilst I was rigging. The
wind dropped after rigging 6.7 / 120L – so had to rig 7.7 / 140L. Chris
was sailing whilst I was faffing with 2 setups. Wind was cross off.
Got on the water and the 7.7 was way too much – as I was trialling a
waist harness and was totally shocked as my arms gave up. God I wish I had
my seat harness!
After flattening the sail, I was blown away on the next run and was very
happy to see the beach.
I gave up as the tide had turn and it was a genuine 5M weather when we
packed up.
Sea was quite flat and to be honest the manor end was better than the dip
today for me as it was quite flat with a little swell.
Just wished I was patient and sat out the lull like Chris instead of
wasting time rigging 7.5 - I would have had a decent ½ hr be4 it blowed
a hoolie at 3pm.
Was never going to rig another sail 5M, both Chris and I packed up. There
were 2 other sailors out.
Can’t get used to my waist harness for power and sheeting in but Will
persevere but I am going back to my seat harness especially if Swaineys is
about
